Your Questions Answered
About Us
Where are you based?
We’re in Scholar Green (just off Spring Bank, Mill Lane) close to Congleton and Mow Cop.
Can I look around?
Absolutely, we’d love to show you around. Seeing where your dog will stay helps you get a real feel for what we do and how we work. Just get in touch to arrange a visit: we’re always happy to meet you (and your dog!) in person.
Are you a licensed home dog boarder?
Yes, we’re fully licensed by Cheshire East Council (Licence No. CE/HB229) and have been awarded the highest possible rating for home boarding. We meet and exceed all council standards, and we’re also proud to be highly recommended by our existing customers, many of whom return time and again because they know their dogs are in safe, caring hands.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are fully insured, giving you peace of mind that your dog is covered during their stay with us.
Dogs We Accept
Do you accept timid or nervous dogs?
Yes, absolutely. We understand every dog is different, which is why we always arrange a meet-and-greet before boarding. It gives your dog a chance to settle in and helps us see how they mix with others.
What age guests do you accept?
We accept dogs from three months old onwards. Younger puppies often need a different level of care, so we wait until they’re at least 12 weeks old.
What kind of dogs do you look after?
We look after all sorts of dogs, big and small, energetic or laid back. The most important thing is that they’re comfortable around other dogs, as boarding is a shared experience.
Which breeds will you accommodate?
We don’t exclude any breeds. What matters is temperament and suitability for a group home environment. Every dog comes for a meet-and-greet first so we can be sure they’ll be happy and safe here.
Boarding Environment & Daily Routine
How many dogs do you board at one time?
We can welcome up to nine dogs at a time. Some days it’s just our resident pup, Barkley – a friendly miniature labradoodle – and other times it’s a full house. Either way, we have plenty of space and we always make sure things feel calm, comfortable, and safe for everyone.
Where do the dogs sleep?
All our guests stay inside our family home, where they can settle down in warm, cosy spaces with comfy dog beds and blankets. Some prefer to curl up with a human, others like to snuggle alongside another dog, and some are happiest having their own space, we make sure every guest sleeps wherever they feel most comfortable.
How much exercise will my dog get?
We tailor walks to suit your dog’s age, breed, and energy levels. From countryside strolls to more active playtime, they’ll always get the right balance of exercise and rest.
Do you walk dogs off-lead?
We don’t walk dogs off-lead because we can’t guarantee their recall when they’re away from home. Keeping them on-lead means we know they’re safe at all times, no matter how exciting the walk gets.
What safety measures do you have in place?
Every guest wears a Cheshire Home Dog Boarding ID tag and a GPS tracker during their stay, so we always know where they are. We also have CCTV covering the property and internal puppy cams to keep an eye on our guests at all times. Your dog’s safety and security are always our top priority.

Care & Special Requirements
Can you cater for special diets or medication?
Yes. We’re happy to stick to your dog’s usual food routine and administer medication as instructed.
What do I need to bring with me when I drop my dog off?
We recommend bringing their usual food, lead, bed/blankets, and anything that smells like home (a favourite toy or comfort item). This helps them settle in quickly and keeps their routine familiar.
Communication & Updates
Do you send updates while my dog is staying with you?
Definitely! We love sending photos and updates of walks, playtime, and sofa snuggles so you can see what your pup is up to while you’re apart. You can also follow along on our social media for regular updates and a glimpse of daily life here at Cheshire Home Dog Boarding.
